Every Pedders G8 coils is fully scragged to permanently set ride height and verified to be withing 2mm of the specified coil height at load. To our knowledge no other suspension coil manufacturer in the world measures every coil. Other batch test, spot check, randomly measure but none measure every single coil produced. The closest a company would come to Pedders exacting standards would be a race matched set of coils that are sold at eXtremely high prices. At Pedders, there is no need to charge more or have a special name for a properly matched set of coils. Every set of coils Pedders sells meets this exacting standard at no extra charge.

The G8 arrives in the USA sitting rather tall with a ride height of 660mm with factory 19" wheels. You will notice that the rear of the vehicle has a larger rear wheel gap than the front. This is the direct result of GM Red Zone standards. The Red Zone dictates the distance between the tire and the wheel arch -- wheel gap. The G8 body design has the rear wheel arch lower on the body than the front arch. Combine this with a light rate rear coil and the compression of the light rate coil with people and cargo and you end up with a vehicle that has a very tall rear end. Pedders is able to maintain the load capacity and bring the G8 rear down to a level that enhances stability with Sports Ryder 2955 (643mm) rear coils. The rear should be dropped more than the front because the rear arrives from Pontiac with more air space than the front. Don't be fooled by your mind's eye or out of date thinking. The 2955 is the ideal height G8 coil for enthusiastic handling and daily driving when match to Pedders 2954.

The front suspension ride height is easily corrected with Pedders 2954 Sports Ryder coils. These coils combined with the World's Best Strut Mount 5851 will lower the front of your G8 a modest 15mm. With this modest drop and increase in spring rate your G8 will be more controlled under all driving conditions with a minimal reduction is driveway or ramp clearance. The nest result of lowering your G8 with Pedders 2954 (634mm) and 2955 (642mm) coils control Pedders control with predictability and stability.

A similar level of control with close to OE ride heights can be achieved using Pedders Sports Ryder 2956 (647mm) front and 2957 (654mm) rear coils. The rates are roughly 30% higher than OE and deliver far greater dynamic stability. Increase the coils rate reduces dynamic changes in your alignment while driving. A smaller range in alignment angle change increases vehicle control. Stability in suspension geometry is directly correlated to stability of the vehicle underway. For those traditionalists that must have a rake in their vehicle as measured by the wheel arch gap the 2957 can be used with the 2954.

If you tow with your G8, you will love Pedders 7855 HD (680mm) rear coil. This coil is suitable for towing and Drag Racing with a 40% increase in rate.
