Lowering a car is the best way to increase effective tire size. So many people spend BIG BUCKS to improve handling with larger wheels and tires. At Pedders, we have found the best way, the most cost effective way to improve handling is to lower the car with increased coil rates. Many aftermarket wheel and tire packages increase weight. This is not good. Increased wheel and tire weight increase rotating mass. The faster you go, the more the mass increases. Your brakes must work harder to stop the vehicle. The same is true for suspension. When you increase tire and wheel weight you effectively reduce spring rate. We could go on and on with this discussion, but by now you get the idea.
 
Use you well engineerined OEM wheels with the best tires you can afford to buy. We have a strong preference for Bridgestone here at Pedders, but the rule of thumb is to buy the best available tire in the OEM size. Match them to you Sky with Pedders Sport Ryder lowering coils. Pedders SR Coils are effectively a race matched Set. Every coil Pedders makes is load cell tested and verified to be withing 2mm of specified height. The industry standard is 15mm.
 
 
Pedders 220002   front coils will lower your Sky about 20mm while the 220003  rear coils will lower the rear about 30mm. This is just under an inch up front and just over an inch in the rear. you will think that you have increased your tire width by an inch or two with out an issues of rubbing, fitment or decrease in performance. You have a more aggressive look. Most of our clients report an IMPROVEMENT in ride comfort because there is less commotion going over a bump. Handling will be dramatically improved. You will not belive it is the same car.
